Two Possible Scenarios in the Iranian War

I See Two Possible Scenarios

➤As the American-Israeli war with Iran deepens, it continues to capture the world’s attention.

Yet for students of Bible prophecy, these escalating events signify much more than geopolitics — they may be precursors to the shifting of prophetic gears toward the opening of the first seal in Revelation 6.

I see two possible pathways ahead: one that ushers in a deceptive global peace, and another that leads to chaos, preparing the way for the rise of the Antichrist spoken of by John the Apostle in I John 4:3.

Scenario One: A Brief Season of Global Peace

Should the current war burn out quickly as a result of America and Israel clearly winning, the nations, led by the Board of Peace, would be able to put in place the Middle East peace that it has been seeking through diplomacy.

That, I believe, could give birth to what appears to be an unprecedented Middle East peace accord, hailed as the dawn of a new era in world relations.

  • Markets would stabilize
  • Trade routes would reopen
  • Humanitarian relief efforts would flourish

But it would all be temporal and lead to the rise of the Antichrist.

The first seal of Revelation (Revelation 6:1–2) describes “a rider on a white horse… and he went out conquering and to conquer.”

Most conservative premillennial scholars interpret the first rider as the coming Antichrist, a false messiah who imitates Christ’s appearance of righteousness.

The white horse symbolizes a counterfeit purity and victory, while the bow without arrows pictures conquest through diplomacy, intimidation, treaties, and deception rather than through war. Under God’s overarching plan, this world leader will enforce a deceptive and politically orchestrated “peace,” setting the stage for the chaos that is sure to follow, as we see in the second rider, or the second seal.

Notably, the seals that follow are:

  • The red horse rider symbolizing wars throughout the world (Revelation 6:3–4)
  • The black horse rider symbolizing world economic collapse and famine (6:5–6)
  • The pale horse rider symbolizing death in massive numbers as the world has never seen (6:7–8)

Each one of these tribulation judgments is global.

That global pattern clearly implies that the first seal tribulation judgment also affects the entire world, signaling a temporary, worldwide cessation of major conflicts everywhere — including the Russia-Ukraine war and other regional tensions.

Such peace would also reshape Israel’s posture.

The prophet Ezekiel 38:8, 11 foresees a time when Israel’s restored people dwell in “unwalled villages” and live “securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates.”

This suggests a moment when Israel, after years of vigilance, would lower its guard under the illusion of lasting safety. Yet this peace will be short-lived.

The Apostle Paul warns, “When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

And our Lord, in His Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24:37–39), likened such complacency to the days before the Flood — a sudden judgment arriving when people least expected it.

Thus, this fleeting peace would represent the calm before the storm of the second tribulation judgment of war.

Scenario Two: Chaos and the Rise of a False Peacemaker

The other possible scenario I see is altogether different. But both have merit, I believe.

It is possible that, due to this war and unforeseen circumstances that may evolve, the Middle East and more may be plunged deeper into chaos.

If the conflict spreads and global systems falter:

  • Public fear could surge
  • Political instability could deepen
  • Global leadership structures could weaken

If President Trump should be taken out of the picture, for whatever reason (God forbid), there would suddenly be a great vacuum of world leadership, opening the way for a Messianic figure – hence, the Antichrist.

Such a scenario could certainly be a setup for the one the prophet Daniel described in Daniel 9:27, who “shall confirm the covenant with many for one week” (seven years).

This leader’s peace plan would appear miraculous, drawing support from exhausted nations and religious groups that are poles apart.

It is at this critical juncture that the Board of Peace, the international body designed to ensure harmony among nations, would play the leading pivotal role.

The Board’s Founder and Chairman for Life, President Donald J. Trump, has long symbolized a strong commitment to peace through strength.

I do not envision him as the Antichrist in any scenario, but again, if for any reason, he were no longer in that position, it would create a significant power vacuum.

Into that void could step a political figure of extraordinary influence — the very person John warned of in his epistle:

“Even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time” (1 John 2:18).

This final Antichrist would rise as a peacemaker but ultimately reveal himself as:

  • The Deceiver
  • The Son of Perdition
  • The Beast of Revelation 13

His actions would set in motion the four tribulation judgments.

The Prophetic Horizon

Whether temporal peace or more chaos and war follow in the wake of this conflict, both directions align with the prophetic narrative of Scripture.

Either outcome would lead to a deceptive calm, advancing the world toward the fulfillment of divine prophecy.

For followers of Jesus Christ, these things should not provoke fear or anxiety, but the faithful promise of His soon return.

Our Lord assured all of us when He said:

“When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28).

Watching His plan unfold,

Mark S. Case
