“O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You” (Daniel 9:8).
God told Israel on more than one occasion that if they continually disobeyed Him, He would send them into confusion – utter confusion (Deut. 28:20, 28, etc.). Their thinking would be in disarray, and He would scatter them, too. They would be divided rather than united. They continued to rebel even while worshiping Him, but He kept His promise to confuse and scatter them. Acts of worship didn’t turn God from demanding holiness.
This is exactly where we are today, both in American society and throughout the entire “Christian” community.
American Society
Never has so much information been at our fingertips. Never has so much of that information been fabricated out of thin air. Never has so much information been produced by AI. Never have there been so many millions constantly feeding on social media. Never has so much information been so contradictory. Never has the average person had such an opportunity to become famous and respected by millions of followers in such a short time. Never has so much information led to so much division and confusion. Never has everything about life on planet Earth been so uncertain. Never has America been so close to destroying itself. Never has America had a stronger president or cabinet at a more critical time in history. Never has America had a weaker and more unpredictable conservative-majority Congress and Supreme Court under a conservative president. Never has America’s stock market been so high, yet so precarious. Never has America’s military been so strong, but in such a dangerous position at the same time.
The Christian Community
Never has the Christian community exposed so many internal scandals. Never has the Christian community broadcast its internal arguments so openly before the world. Never has the Christian community so proudly boasted in immorality to appease the world. Never has the Christian community been so exposed to soft porn and filthy language constantly, primarily through social media, and not think anything about it. Never has the Christian community been so shallow in spiritual knowledge and understanding, and spiritually impotent, too. Never has the Christian community proliferated so many heresies. Never has the Christian community been so rich and so poor at the same time. Never has the Christian community had so much good teaching at its fingertips, and so many biblically illiterate believers at the same time. Never has the Christian community been so divided over Israel.
This is not sustainable.
