“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (II Cor. 7:1).
It is one thing to live a fully sanctified life,
but it is quite another thing to compare oneself with the Sanctified God.
It is one thing to be awarded the righteousness of Jesus Christ,
but it is quite another to compare oneself to Jesus Christ the Righteous.
We may long to see His glory here, but for all the glory we may see, it could never compare with the One from whom all glory is derived.
We are to seek whole and complete sanctification, but even if we were to arrive there, we would still pale by comparison alongside the Sanctified God.
We must never forget that the righteousness that was freely given to us had to be earned by the Righteous One.
He will always be the Creator.
We will always be created beings.
Oh, what a Savior!
