Open Vision of Healing in the Last Days

Open Vision of Healing in the Last Days

As I was seeking the Lord, He gave me an open vision. I saw two rooms in front of me, each with a door, one on the left and one on the right. I entered the room on the left first.

The room was approximately twelve by fourteen feet. Chairs were arranged around the walls, with four or five people seated along each side wall and perhaps six, eight, or ten people across the back. This is the general picture that I remember.

Every person in that room had a serious physical or mental deformity. Something had gone wrong in their development. Some had Down syndrome or severe physical deformities from birth. Others had serious mental illnesses or other significant conditions. They were all sitting there as though they were waiting for me to come and pray for them.

As I entered the room, I immediately knew what to do. I went to each person, laid my hands on them, and prayed, saying, “Be healed in Jesus’ name!” Each person was healed immediately as I touched and prayed for them. I watched as their deformities were made whole before my eyes. The presence of the Lord was so tangible as I went around the room praying for each person.

When I finished, I came out of that room and entered the other room, the one on the right. The same thing happened there. I laid my hands on each person, and as I prayed, each one was made completely whole.

Praise the Lord!

The Message of the Vision
This vision was not about me, as though I were somehow more significant than any other believer in the world. Rather, it was about what the Holy Spirit is going to do through so many of His people in these last days—in these last hours of the last days.

As the Church enters into trying times, testing, and difficult circumstances, the Lord will meet His people with His glory and power through Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Peter speaks of the trials believers will face:

“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy” (I Peter 4:12–13).

The Apostle Paul likewise tells us:

“We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22).

Yet in the midst of these trials, we must remember that the Lord is able to manifest His glory and power through His people.

Yes, I hope that these things will happen through me as well, but that is not the point of the vision. The message is for the larger Body of Christ. It is about what the Lord will do through His people as He manifests His glory in the earth.

Healings Reserved for the Glory of God
Another significant point of this vision concerns the many people who have not been healed, even though they have been prayed for repeatedly.

Many people live with severe physical deformities, mental illnesses, significant diseases, and other serious conditions. Despite repeated prayer, they have not received the healing for which they and others have hoped.

I believe the Holy Spirit was showing me that many such people will experience healing in these last hours, as God chooses to manifest His glory through the power of Jesus Christ.

Consider the account of the man who was blind from birth in John 9. When Jesus’ disciples asked whether the man’s blindness was the result of his own sin or the sin of his parents, Jesus answered that neither was the reason. Rather, the works of God were to be revealed in him.

“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ Jesus answered, ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him’” (John 9:1–3).

Jesus then healed the man, revealing the glory and power of God.

The man had been blind from birth, but his healing became an occasion for the works of God to be revealed through Jesus Christ. I believe we will see this again. There will be people whose healings bring great glory to God, and the Lord will work through the members of the Body of Christ by His Holy Spirit.

The Circumstances Surrounding the Vision
The Holy Spirit gave me this open vision probably in 1999. More than twenty-five years have passed since then, and it may be closer to thirty years. I remember where I was and the circumstances surrounding that time.

During that same period, I was working in South America and visiting people with physical deformities, illnesses, and other serious maladies. Many of these people had been prayed for without receiving the healing they needed.

In that setting, I believe the Holy Spirit spoke to me and impressed upon me that many people with such conditions would have their healing reserved for these last hours, just as the healing of the man born blind was reserved for the time when Jesus came and the works of God were revealed through him.

I have carried that impression with me through the years.

The open vision of the two rooms gave me a picture of what I believe the Lord was communicating: a time when people with serious conditions would be healed as the Holy Spirit worked through the Body of Christ, bringing glory to Jesus.

An Encouragement to the Body of Christ
I share this vision not to draw attention to myself, but to encourage the Body of Christ concerning the glory of God that shall be revealed in us.

The Apostle Paul writes: “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God” (Romans 8:18–19 (NKJV).

Paul is speaking specifically about our moment of glory when we see Jesus, but it is also true that Paul taught us that we should be growing from glory to glory even before we see Him. And in becoming “the fullness of Christ,” “a glorious church,” surely we will see His glory in ways He saw His Father glorified.

As we approach difficult and trying times, we must remember that the Lord has not left His people without His presence or power. The Holy Spirit works in and through the Church to glorify Jesus Christ.

We must remain faithful to the Lord, grounded in His Word, dependent upon His Spirit, and ready to serve whenever and however He leads us.

The vision reminds me that our present circumstances do not limit what God can do. People who have suffered for years may yet become witnesses to His power and grace. Those whose conditions have seemed beyond human remedy may become occasions for the glory of God to be revealed.

I believe the Lord was showing me something of the mighty works He intends to accomplish through His people in these last days.

May we be ready to believe Him, obey Him, pray for the suffering, and give Jesus Christ all the glory for whatever He chooses to do through us.

Praise the Lord! May the glory of God be revealed in and through the Body of Christ in these last days. Praise Jesus!
