I Believe The Time Has Come. We Must Decrease That He Might Increase In Our Eyes

(Please note: I do not believe God wants us to give up our stand against the evil invading our land. Surely, He would have us continue to boldly proclaim whatever is true, and right, and just, and holy in America. We know Jesus is coming very soon, and our eyes need to look much higher; but we must not forsake the faith of our forefathers, and of the brave men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to maintain America’s God-given Constitution and our Christian heritage.)

JOHN THE BAPTIST was known by all as he bore witness of Jesus to the world just before Jesus began His first assignment given by His Heavenly Father. John was earthly, and Jesus, heavenly; and the heavenly is far superior to the earthly.

When it was time for Jesus to shine as The Light of the World, John the Baptist knew it was time for the lesser light of his ministry to grow dim. He served a very important role in God’s plan just before Jesus came the first time, but his time to shine would end. It would no longer be necessary for John to bear witness of Jesus because He would begin to shine.

King Herod ended up putting John the Baptist in jail unlawfully; and shortly after, Herod killed him while he was in prison.

The Gospel of John 3:30-35 (NKJV):

“30. He must increase, but I must decrease.

“31. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

“32. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.

“33. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.

“34. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

“35. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.”

The Holy Spirit spoke to me about a quarter a century ago while I was ministering throughout South America, saying that, just before Jesus comes again to fulfill His last assignment given by His Heavenly Father, the earthly light and glory of the USA will grow dim – it must grow dim.

During that season, men and women, boys and girls, throughout America and all over the world will begin to look up. Never again would the glory of America’s man-made skyscrapers command our attention.

Millions upon millions, both inside and outside the Church, will begin to look up to Jesus!

The Holy Spirit had me preach this throughout America and across much of the world to caution everyone not to continue depending on America’s strengths – not our military, not our government, not our dollar; but rather to begin bowing lower and looking higher to Jesus, our real and lasting source of life and strength.

2 Things to Prayerfully Consider:

  1. Jesus is coming again really soon, and He’s going to reap a great harvest, many of whom have not yet come into His kingdom (Revelation 7:9-12). It is when we bow down and look up that we see Him as He really is. Our lesser light, though great it has been, is still earthly, and it detracts from His Greater Light.
  2. He is not only going to have a great harvest, but a mature harvest too (Ephesians 4:11-16)! As long as Christians in America (and throughout much of the world) remain content with the lesser light of America’s glory, most will never press in to touch the garment of Jesus.

When the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48), who had exhausted all hope for an earthly cure, saw Jesus in the crowd, she pressed in to touch His glorious garment and was made whole.

The Apostle Paul knew suffering from a lot of personal experience, saying,

“For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (II Corinthians 12:10 ESV).

James, a younger brother of Jesus, said,

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4 NKJV).

More than at any other time, God-fearing Americans need to bow lower and look higher, far beyond the earthly and into the heavenlies.

Finally, the Prophet Isaiah wrote:

“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts;

“Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).

While we proclaim and defend “whatsoever things are true,” we need to press in to Jesus until we have truly touched His garment.

He’s coming soon! Tell everyone! Grow in the grace and knowledge of Him!
