Ephesians 4:7-16 Overview

In this video, Mark overviews Ephesians 4:7–16 and argues that Jesus gave leadership gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—to equip believers, build up the church, and grow the body into full maturity in Christ. He says many churches rely almost entirely on one gift (the pastor), which leaves believers spiritually childish, divided, and vulnerable to deception and false doctrine. God’s design is a unified, truth-in-love community where every member functions and the church matures together.
